Compare complete totals rather than headline discounts
Create two columns: taking the exam without joining PMI, and taking it with membership. Enter the current exam quote in each column, add membership only where applicable, then include taxes and payment charges shown to you. Membership is not automatically a saving just because the exam line is lower.
Keep training separate from the certification charge. A course price may include practice access but exclude the exam; a preparation package may exclude both membership and scheduling. Ask the seller to mark each item as included, optional or excluded in writing.

India and USA: use the same method, not a copied conversion
For India, record the checkout currency, tax treatment shown and any card conversion charges. For the USA, check the payable total for your account rather than assuming every state or purchasing route has the same final amount. Do not turn an old US dollar price into an Indian quote using a search-engine exchange rate.
If your employer reimburses the cost, clarify which name and billing details must appear on receipts before payment. Keep receipts for the exam and training separately. Ask whether the reimbursement policy covers membership or only the first exam attempt; the answer can change your personal budget.
Treat voucher and free-voucher claims as offers to verify
No free PMP voucher or discount is promised here. Before purchasing through a third party, ask for the exact certification, permitted country, validity, redemption process, restrictions and refund policy. Check whether an offer requires you to transfer account credentials or pay an unexplained extra activation fee. Those are reasons to pause.
A legitimate promotion can have a limited audience or deadline. Save the original terms and confirm them with the issuer. Do not interpret an enquiry page, expired advertisement or unverified coupon listing as proof that you will receive a working exam entitlement.
A simple purchasing decision worksheet
Write down: my exam quote today; optional membership total; chosen training total; remaining preparation expenses; and a contingency I can afford. Then ask whether the purchase addresses your current bottleneck. If eligibility is uncertain, a large practice bundle will not resolve it. If concepts are strong but time management is weak, targeted timed practice may be more useful than another introductory course.
