What a responsible application review covers
Start with a summary of your qualification, project history and training evidence. A reviewer can help you organise the material, identify unanswered questions and distinguish a project from continuing operations. Only you and the people who worked with you can confirm whether the underlying facts are accurate.
A good review produces questions and corrections you understand. For example: who authorised a scope change, what decision did you facilitate, and how was a deliverable accepted? If a rewritten sentence describes work you did not do, remove it even if it sounds impressive.
- Education route and any evidence needed to establish the qualification level.
- Project dates with overlapping calendar months counted once.
- Your leadership responsibilities, decisions, deliverables and actual outcome.
- Training records and a potential reference who can verify your work.
A practical three-stage review
First, make an inventory using project labels that avoid confidential customer information. For each entry, record a start and end month, objective, your role, major decisions and an available verifier. Flag uncertain dates instead of filling them with estimates presented as facts.
Second, draft your descriptions yourself. A reviewer should separate factual gaps from wording problems: an unclear sentence can be edited, but missing experience cannot. Third, check the completed application against your records before you personally submit it to PMI. Keep the final version so that an audit response is consistent with what you submitted.
| Stage | Bring | Expected output |
|---|---|---|
| Inventory | Education and dated project list | Questions about gaps or overlaps |
| Description review | Your factual draft | Clearer explanation of your actual role |
| Submission check | Final entries and supporting records | A checklist, not an approval guarantee |
What assistance must not promise
Do not pay for fabricated project descriptions, guaranteed audit clearance, a borrowed reference or a certificate for training you did not complete. These shortcuts create risk for your application and your professional reputation. A consultant cannot override PMI’s decision.
Keep control of your PMI account. Do not share your password, one-time codes, payment-card details or confidential employer files with an adviser. Where review requires evidence, agree the minimum necessary information and redact customer, employee and commercial details.
Request help with a specific application problem
An effective first message is: ‘I have a bachelor’s qualification, several overlapping implementation projects and training evidence. I need help checking my month calculation and explaining my role without disclosing client information.’ This helps an adviser identify the appropriate review rather than sell an unrelated course.
Ask ITCertPath to confirm availability, scope, price if applicable, expected turnaround and what information is required before you proceed. If the issue is recognition of a qualification or an audit instruction, use PMI’s official support channel for the binding answer. Use the free application guide first if you simply need a starting structure.
