Agile does not mean “no plan” or “accept every interruption.” Teams plan at multiple horizons, clarify quality and completion expectations, and protect current delivery focus while reprioritizing future work through the appropriate role and process.
Hybrid: tailor deliberately, not randomly

Handle change through the chosen operating model
For exam questions, first identify the delivery approach and decision authority. Then evaluate impact, involve the appropriate people and use the established process. Avoid unilateral action and premature escalation when collaborative analysis is possible.
Worked scenario: regulated connected medical device
A program includes physical equipment, embedded controls, a clinician-facing application and regulated validation evidence.
- Use a more predictive approach for hardware manufacturing, safety approvals and fixed external milestones where late physical change is costly.
- Use an agile approach for application workflows where clinicians can review working increments and refine usability.
- Define a hybrid integration model with shared architecture, dependency dates, interface criteria and system-level validation gates.
- Maintain one view of outcomes, risks and release readiness across all components.
